High Spirits, Nice Language
For an outsider, the language and the tones in which the lines are sung, can seem quite aggressive. Often, the spirits are very high and the faces of the singers
extremely serious. However, this perception is only so when one cannot understand the meaning of the words, since the topics of the Girayda are almost always very peaceful. The wild bodily movements some of the performers
make, are just ways of expression and do not necessarily fit the sung lines.
The audience disapproves of violence in any way - Girayda is supposed to be a way of giving thanks, and binding people and
areas together.
